Known Issues


  • It's sometimes difficult to walk through doors.
    • Workaround: Try clicking beyond the door in the direction you want to go. For example, if the door is at the top of the screen, click above it. If the door is at the left of the screen, click to the left of it.
    • This is due to a bug in the AGS engine, rather than the game itself, so greGAMES! cannot fix this issue.
  • You can sneak your llama past the carnivorous plant without properly subduing it. (fixed in v.1.2)
    • Workaround: Subdue the plant before trying to lead the llama past it.
  • In the lodge, if you pick up the book from the table after watering the plant, the wrong edition appears in your inventory. (fixed in v.1.2)
    • Workaround: Restore from a saved game, and pick up the book before watering the plant.
  • To avoid misleading the player during the rabies puzzle, the color of the spray paint has been changed. (fixed in v.1.2)
  • There are now two possible solutions to the control panel puzzle. (fixed in v.1.3)

Freezing and Crashes

  • When playing without background music, the game freezes in the shed, during the yodeling match, and during some of the cutscenes. (fixed in v.1.3)
    • Workaround: Make sure music.vox is in the same folder as dusseldorf.exe.
  • While the bodybuilder is jump roping, the game freezes whenever Jessica reaches for something in the room. (fixed in v.1.3)
    • Workaround: Press CTRL-ALT-DELETE, click Cancel, and then open the game using the button on the taskbar. The game will unfreeze.
  • When triggering the avalanche, if Frieda's door is closed, Jessica is no longer able to move. (fixed in v.1.4)
    • Workaround: Restore from a saved game, and make sure Frieda's door is open before triggering the avalanche.
  • On certain machines, the game crashes during the introductory cinematic ("Error: SetCharacterSpeed: cannot change speed while walking"). (fixed in v.1.1)


  • When using the mouse to unpause the game, the room's background music and ambient sounds do not resume. (fixed in v.1.4)
    • Workaround: Exit and re-enter the room, or use the keyboard to unpause the game.
  • The background music resets to the default level whenever a character speaks. (fixed in v.1.4)
    • Workaround: Set the desired volume level using the Master Volume slider on the sound control panel.
  • You can't silence the background music entirely.
    • This is due to a bug in the AGS engine, rather than the game itself, so greGAMES! cannot fix this issue.
